The same $298, until you prepay
Ro vs Hims is an unusually close price comparison, because both run the same two-charge model and land on the same number. Each charges a membership — $39 for the first month, then $149 — and bills the medication separately at the manufacturers' cash prices: $149 a month for the Wegovy pill, $199 for the Wegovy pen, $299 for Zepbound. At the cheapest plan that is $298 a month all-in on either.
The gap opens if you commit. Ro's membership drops to $99 on a three-month plan, $89 on six months and $74 on an annual prepaid plan, which takes the cheapest all-in cost to about $223 a month. Hims publishes no prepaid membership tier at all, so $298 is its floor. One warning on the Hims price list: Mounjaro and the Zepbound autoinjector are priced at $1,899 a month, near list price, while the same tirzepatide in a Zepbound vial or KwikPen is $299 on the same page.
Insurance is the real fork
Ro runs an insurance concierge that checks your coverage, files prior authorisations and handles appeals for the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound autoinjector and Ozempic, then sends the prescription to your local pharmacy — Ro says that takes two to three weeks. If your plan covers a GLP-1, that work is worth more than any membership discount.
Hims does the opposite deliberately. Its FAQ says insurance is not required, so there are no coverage questions, and the whole programme is self-pay. You can claim the medication charge against an HSA or FSA, but not the membership fee. Neither sells compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide: Ro never has, and no compounded product has appeared on the Hims or Hers weight-loss pages since its March 2026 settlement with Novo Nordisk.
Where the records differ
This is the part price pages do not show. We found no FDA warning letter, government action or manufacturer suit against Ro. Hims & Hers holds two FDA warning letters issued on the same day in September 2025 — one for hims.com, one for the Hers site — over compounded semaglutide marketed as having the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy. In July 2026 the FTC, joined by California and Utah, sued the company over charging for prescriptions before the promised provider consultation, unclear subscription charges, cancellation it alleges was made difficult, and sharing health data with Meta and Snap. The case is pending, the allegations are unproven, and Hims says it will defend itself.
The public ratings point the same way. Ro scores 4.0 on Trustpilot across 6,428 reviews and is BBB-accredited with an A+ grade; Hims & Hers scores 2.9 across 9,294 and, while BBB-accredited since 2018, is currently unrated there with a pending-government-action notice on its profile. Both providers' complaint files are dominated by the same thing — people who did not expect the membership to be a second charge on top of the medication.

How hard is it to cancel each one?
Both need notice and neither refunds what you have paid. Ro cancels from your account or by emailing care@ro.co, at least 48 hours before renewal. Hims cancels in the app, by email or by phone, at least two days before the billing date — and cancelling the membership also ends your medication plan and access to care.
